Is that what they call a balls-up? Its exhausting too.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

This was taken on Sunday. My young mate's kid was doing his motocross on a Yamaha 80 when everything locked up and he went on his bum. The bolt is off the track not the bike. What a fluke!

Thats an amazing catch there Lang, it is amazing the things I find walking along a road

I lost a set of duels one night a few years ago, found one wheel and tyre stuck under a tree that was mine

Found lots of other wheels, hub covers off semi trailer axles, bits of chain and the list just went on and on, its amazing any of us ever make it to our destination

Paul

I have lost several wheels, mainly off trailers, hubcaps back in the day and various other bits of vehicles. Despite seeing them fleeing in the mirror and walking up and down in the long grass I have NEVER found any major item that has gone AWOL.

Many years ago I lost the front wheel off a Porsche.

It was in suburbia and you would think the wheel would be easy to find but I walked up and down the street for 15 minutes before I spotted a wheelie bin on its side (with the contents strewn over the front yard) and my wheel behind it.

Recovered the wheel and walking back along the road picked up 4 of the 5 wheel nuts in the gravel. A good effort as the nuts are black.

As I didn't have a wheel brace in the car, but did have a jack, It finger tightened the 4 nuts and slowly drove to a nearby friends house and used his wheel brace.

For months there was a set of truck brake shoes and half a brake drum sitting at the exit of the M1 at Wahroonga, must have been an interesting stop.

About 30 years ago I realized I had brought my kids up "proper".

19 year old daughter had an old Mini she drove to university. Was a bit late home to tell us a front wheel had come off the car and disappeared somewhere into a park and she could not find it. No helpless phone call but she jacked the car up, took one nut of each of the other wheels and fitted the spare and without any fanfare continued home.

Not one man in a hundred would have done that.
