More like late 1950s or early 1960s. Registration is a 'Trade Plate' as used for vehicle delivery, testing, etc., as used by manufacturers and dealerships. The allocated plates for the vehicle have yet to be fitted.

Amazing that the Poms still had cycle mudguards originating in the 1890's while trying to be modern with curved windscreens.

I have not much smart words to add here, except how good was life when it was a lot simpler

Brings back great memories of hiding under the tonneau of Pop's HQ ute on the way back from the tip (wherever the tip near Rye, Vic was), especially if it was a family weekend and my cousin was also there. (mid 70's when Pop worked at Bayside (?) Holden)

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

That steam roller driver should be sacked. Obviously speeding, lost control, crossed onto the wrong side and crashed into Agnes Syke's little Hillman. The front roller was found 50 metres down the road and Agnes only had relatively minor damage to her vehicle. A testament to the strength and safety of the British car.
