G-day just found this forum per discussion on the grey ghosts I did drive these for comet out of bris and can verify they were good for 80-90 m.p.h I drove an inter prior to that carting for hawthorn out of bris to syd did 3 return trips per week av. time 10.1/2 -11 hrs best time from mascot to marooka 10.1/4 hrs on tacho card the thing would top 130 m.p.h. at a few places on the n/eng like doing bathurst 6 times a weekI don't know if any of the old n/eng runners would remember it they used to call it the flying machine would like to hear from any-one from those days. cheers. oldbloke

Welcome to this weid mob
LOL
not th@ I had any thing to do with them Silver bullits or gray ghosts
but did C m around Melbourne @ times
Jokers here don't beleive me when I mentioned the speed they could do
if the screemers were govoned to 2100 RPM n with a light load with a V8-71 @ 318HP U could max out @ 2250rpm @ flight revs n th@ could add nuther 20MPH with tall diff ratios
Q:?
Hoo else had them overnight ridgid trucks??
Seem to remember a mob in Nth Melbourne but can't recall name
they all did have a bit of opposition with the Dodge V8 petrol jiggers do n light load overnight express @ brake neck speed
The Dodge truck might have been all the go Back then may B cos U didn't need a log book for the small truck
