The leed Trailer has mud guard ovr the tandem then a mud flap
Nex axle is either on a reel short drawbar from the rear trailer
but the axle spacin looks too F short to allow to turn
may B an after thort to convert the leed trailer by add n a nuther axle to make it a tri / tandem 'B' duble

I can not help much!! Up until the early 90's Canada, especially Quebec and Ontario, had a short spread (maybe about 6-8 foot) rule which allowed higher weight limits on axle groups. Apparently the engineers devised a way to insert a longer intermediate drive shaft and utilized this spread law. They also used 3 and 4 axle trailers with this spread setting between each axle. We used to see some of them come down into the States, But the American spread law is 10 foot 1 inch, so these short spreads did not help. Chicago must have had a similar local law as I have seen tippers and cement mixers with this spread on their drive axles in that area.
