A fellow once told me, that a Mack was only good for one thing and one thing only, that one thing was polishing, so maybe that why there is so many at the truck shows

Remember a bloke coming into Express Freights workshop at Enfield (NSW) had a bit or minor starter motor trouble. Had a single drive yellow R400, Flintstone style cab. Again, I'm testing the old grey matter, but seem to recall it had a Scania Vabis engine, was a twin sticker, could have been either a triplex or duplex box. Express freight had it's own R600 Flintstone with a 235 Maxidyne and that 5 speed box with the deep reduction extra low gear giving it 6 speeds. had the big worm drive diffs with the HD camel back. Maybe Scummy may remember it??
I hadn't had much to do with the brand until I started with Mayne Nicks where they had the F models right up to the 4 valve 350's. I do remember a batch of early 320 "Cool Powers" where they had quite a few problems with them grinding the lobes off the camshafts, when fitted with Dynatards. I think they put it down to the metal in the camshafts being too soft. I had two go on me at differing times, used to sound like the Dynatard was sticking on.
