Hmmm all I can say is you cant polish a turd, I dont care what any of you jokers say trucks have not improved since the cool powered Mack they ride like a truck sound like and work like three trucks of any other truck and still out perform all this modern crap
Merry Christmas all and with any luck you will find a R model Mack under your tree with a good old tip turbine under the bonnet if not well suffer in your undies LOL
Your better to die trying than live on your knees begging
I think there are few new model vehicles that are not an improvement on the one before. I know, everyone says the 2001 Mattress Thrasher Mark IV was a piece of rubbish but show me any truck driver who would swap even a new Volvo for your Mack to run interstate on a daily basis.
The FJ Holden cost nearly a year's average pay, had a warranty for 90 days or 4,000 miles, required a valve grind at 30,000 miles and was pretty well buggered at 65,000 miles. A Hyundai Getz costs 4 months pay, has a 300,000 kilometre warranty and the engine more than likely will not have been opened at 400,000 kilometres. The comparison between trucks over the years is even greater than the cars.
Almost every single feature of the Hyundai is better than the Holden but many out there still insist "they don't make them like they used to" - thank Christ!
I reckon we should look at our old trucks as what they are, a bit of superseded history (mostly with some personal connection), fun but not too comfortable to drive and think about the blokes in 50 years time who will think the 2001 Mattress Thrasher MK IV is a valuable connection to a bygone era that needs to be saved and restored.
Yeah Swishy, I'm inclined to agree with you, (Petes VS Volvo). Anyone can call themselves a "world expert".
I can declare myself a world expert on left-footed lesbian basket weavers, who's gonna deny me?
