Just thinking, haven't read a 'tall story' post for a while, what? We all been hit with a dose of honesty? Where's the bloke who loaded his single drive at the cold stores at Bathurst and was sprung by the scalies at Mt Victoria, When asked why he was two and a half ton OVER on the drive, but Light on the bogie, he responded, "Bulk peas on, musta rolled forward" to which the DMT bloke was supposed to retort, "Good one! For that you can go!" Yeah, right, like to see that.
Must be some hairy stories out there about the "Pilliga Princess"? What about that bloke who transported the famous pumpkins from Gatton to Brisbane markets, on the tray truck, one on the front of the tray, two over the rear axle. Make a lot of pumpkin soup out of that load! Come on, you blokes, more outrageous the better! May even be able to get Swishy to donate a "wee sip", even if it's only from your own fridge!

Went round to the Melbourne dozer dealer n placed 2 earthmoving machines = nuther 20t odd ton on top of the steel plate
drove out side the dealer n had a nap.... wen he woke he twaz surrounded by the gestapo

<2> A week B 4 Xmas many moons ago a joker in W.A. wanted a Cat 621 Scraper carted from Melb to W.A.
no one was interested B n right on Xmas.... A joker with a semi loaded the beast ( not the norm in Vic usually LowLoader Job)
he twaz grabbd by the gestapo n told dun move he'z go n for scales n backup..... so the trucky did a runner n eventually
got nabbed again ...... after few hours of yak n he twaz let go to continue hiz journey
rumor had it the premier of W.A. rel needed the Scraper in W.A. n all was good to go
(go z 2 sho itz hoo u kno n not wot u kno)

twaz told eye'm over on the drive. So eye quikly undid the chains n got the Scraper operator to hit reverse till the rear wheels dropd off the back bumper ... Weighd all OK chained up n gorn

Loaded stinkers out of Townsville , got to Willow Tree , trucks everywhere . Bridge is open.
I got a Brilliant idea . Hey you blokes take th hat around , buy Lloyd a truckload of water , when I
leave here give me twenty minutes & head up to th bridge.
Gets up there , stops , crawl onto bridge , as I do , pumping th brakes . Ok ya right see ya . I STALL,
still pumping any air left in air tanks , maxi's come on. I get out tilt the bonnet of the New White 9000.
Tinker , tinker , look around , gets big screw driver & hammer out , poke here tap there , nothing.
Axles Harry orders me off th ridge . Sorry mate , can't start it , out of air so I cant tow it either.
On cue trucks start to arrive from both sides , wanting to get weighed so they can make market.
It was hot as hell & the water soaking through th stinkers IS starting to take effect. Too many trucks
both sides of the road , Quirindi copper pisses trucks off , too dangerous , after an hour , the smell
is Too great for Harry &his mate so they piss off . Half an hour later , I hooks the broken lead up to
starter motor , holds de-compression ever , shorts starter out , motor fires up . I piss off too.
That bridge stunk for months & Axles Harry Hated me even more.

Used to be what they called animal hides. One good way of clearing out a parking bay!

Pretty sure Zoomtop is referring to Salted green Cowhides. If He loaded them At Townsville By the time he got to Willow tree I would Imagine there'd be a trail of "juice" Following Him..

But will see what Zoomtop says..

For those who don't know . Stinkers = ears , r soles & fanny area of cattle , all cut off during slautering.
So you could imagine , by the time I got from Townsville to Willow Tree , they had dried out a bit . Hence
getting a hose off Lloyd - Mobil Road House , now BP. To wet em down a bit . Hence th juicy bit .
Bloody Axles Harry , NEVER liked me or any Highway Crawlage . Used to greet us "n how is Mr 10% today"
& then measure us . Mongrel . If he could not get us on weight , he tried to get you on measurement.
