About the 15 speeder......there is eleven progressive up shifts. that don't overlap.........AFTER........you have selected your lowest gear to take off..........
That means there is twelve positions that do not overlap..out of the available 15 speeds in the box............
My son in law delivered (many moons ago )portable dunnies. with a four wheeler flat top and a 24 foot trailer similar to a caravan chassis......
the coupling was one of those ball thingos. at the back of the truck.......first up the transport office said no trailer licence was required.......
however.. later, a trip over a weigh bridge said you must have a trailer licence. which he had to get........................
That is my 2 cents worth............
About the 15 speed .. the ratios may not exactly over lap......but near enough to not matter............

When I got my HR, instructor said I could drive a PM and could tow a trailer over 9t but, not a semi trailer, or a dog trailer. Qld main roads page lists no such distinctions ?! By his logic, 5th wheel campers would need a HC license.
