Maybe I am too old , but I always thought that a jailbar Ford was the first model following the beerbarrel model...Not the following models ,ie. 1945/6 vintage and other models!!!

I have always been of the opinion that they are all considered jail bars - being of virtually identical appearance to the earlier pre-war models. The grille having vertical bars ala allocated boarding facilities. :oops:
