I glanced through the new regs and what struck me was that rego labels are to be abolished but VEHICLES USING AN UNREGISTERED VEHICLE PERMIT WILL STILL NEED TO DISPLAY THE LABEL. In Victoria, you do not get a label, just a couple of sheets of paper to display inside your windscreen.

Regarding swapping your battery cables,
If you swap 'em before the season changes, you starter would stop the engine and your headlights would make daylight dark. :woohoo: :evil:

I recently spotted one of the new plates on a truck and posed the question to my Truck Driver mate with me about them and he said he'd never seen one and knew nothing about them.

PS Looks like this explains it. It would appear the changes are entirely mechanical with no disengagement as the sensors give the exact moment to change (like changing a Road Ranger without the clutch except much more precisely than human input)
