That Linn truck in Nth Qld posted by Rusty Engines, seen the odd photo of them, but does anyone know much about them? Or how many ever came here? Interesting half-track arrangement.
Some great old photos on this topic, keep 'em coming!

There is a Linn in Brisbane area, used to be a regular at shows.Said to come from a sawmill at Mt Marrow ,west of Ipswich. They had a interesting track setup.....there are no fixed rollers in the trackframe. An inner chain with rollers circulates inside the outer track. The system was to get around Caterpillar patents covering rollers fixed to the frame,as in modern machines.

A positive camber in the main frame is a good result

This is a 1955 Scammell Contractor of Wynns pulling an oversize load a generator transformer on its way to CEGB High Marnham Power Station in North Notts in 1959.
Seen on the A5, Shenstone, Near Lichfield, England this Scammell 6x6 tractor (Q937 FVT) is about to pull a 200 Tonne press to the Ldv factory in Birmingham, England.
The load had been transhipped to the 16 axle modular trailer from Ale's beam set and bogies using the hydraulic gantry seen in the background.
The load came from Germany into the Uk port of Hull and needed to be moved onto the modular trailer to allow it to be manoeuvred in the tight confines of the Ldv site.
