Great pics, Kingy! You've sure got some neat shots. Tell us about the K-Whoppa road train? How far is the lead that the KW is on?
It looks like he's running 5 trailers? .. 3 A-trailers, with the 3rd trailer powered .. then two more? Is the 4th trailer an A-trailer, too?
What's the payload and total GCM of the K-Whoppa and trailers? Man, I bet you can cook an egg on those KW diffs on a 40

G'Day Onetrack, thought the KW might grab someone's attention, photo's don't really do'em justice..........they are huge hey. Did'nt get any info re. payload etc, iv'e allways been mobile when seeing these, never actually stood next to one... but being ore it would have to be a massive amount, and your right about one trailer being powered, i heard that much.
To get an idea of the width of these trailers.......check out the mirror spacing obviously a wider than norm KW too. Trailer combinations vary too
If i get back there i'll try and find out what channels these guys work on, would be interesting to have brief chat.
Cheers Kingy

So, yes, that particular project is still just a pipe dream. Onesteel are bleeding red from steel-making, shedding employees on a large scale, and are apparently intent on becoming iron ore miners, rather than iron and steel refiners and producers.
We can't compete with Chinese iron and steel producers, they now produce 7 times more refined iron and steel than the Americans, and their output is still increasing. They now produce 46% of the worlds steel.
China produces 700,000,000 tonnes of steel annually, America produces less than 100,000,000 tonnes annually. Australia produces 7,000,000 tonnes of steel annually.

Dave - Western Plains Resources sold all its iron ore projects in South Australia (including the Peculiar Knob project) to Onesteel on 22 August 2011.so is this place up and running or just a pipe dream. Dave
