that my friend is actually an LW924 very similar to a W924 but with the different front guards. Not overly common here in Aus but quite a few were sent to NZ, I believe they were the first model of KW for NZ.

Not sure if this will help, but the early KW's in NZ (like this one) came out of Canada I think...

I think the photo will be a couple of years after 73 as that is an XB falcon on top of the load and there were later than that.

yes they bonnet is of the gull wing sort my research tells me that there were only 2 maybe 3 of those LW900's sent here to Aus. theere were a few of them sent with Steel guards but only a couple with those style guards.

Guys, this could easily be an AusBuilt W923/4 with the optional front.ie Butterfly bonnet
and GRP guards.Northern Transport,Alice Springs had three 1973 models like this. They were Cummins powered, one eventually went to Tanami Transport and then to Goldings in Adelaide. As far as I know it's restored and in the Birdwood Museum,SA.still with this front on it.
RPM Transport(later renamed Tanami Trans,Rogers Family)Alice Springs also had a '73 with
an 8v71 that used to pull their "Polar Express"van Alice to Adelaide.Later on it was used on livestock with the company.
Have pics of all four trucks but I'm in Broome just now and don't have copies in my laptop.
Will post at first chance.
Also Pan Pac (Carter Oji Kokusaku PanPacific) ,Napier NZ had 20 Cummins powered W924s with this front. They were AusBuilt too I think? Also about '73/'74.
Help me out here Bruce,Vic, .......someone.......
