Just having a bit of a look around some of the dealers offerings and it seems to me that in todays relaxed overall length allowances, that the cabover is going the way of button up boots.
Not the European stuff, but notably what is being offered by Aussie built, which I suppose is a very narrow field these days.
Casting a casual glance over Kenworths site, seems that theirs are available in more or less a special option, e.g. 8X4, 10X4, 10X6.
Been a bit out of it for a while, don't even know if Mack even put out a cabover anymore.
Lots of Euro, Japanese stuff in the small to mid range of course.
Seems we are following the Yank lead with conventional p/movers (where they seem to have virtually unlimited length, witness some of those travelling bordellos they are so fond of ). Other than some special application or military type builds, cabovers seem to be just about phased out.
Bit of a shame in some ways, a well turned out cabover prime mover still attracts admiring glances especially at the truck shows.
Just saying.

One thing the conventional cab with a sleeper had over the cabover with sleeper was on a cold wet night if you had a major breakdown you could go to bed while the mechanic worked on the truck, bit hard to sleep in bunk at 45 degree angle
