Hi all , looking for some clues to determine whether or not my engine has piston coolers , I’ve done the CUMMINS QUICK SERVE and whilst I know what date the engine was made I’m having difficulty reading through the lists, I think it’s a small cam as the official name is NH/NT230SC . Any help appreciated.. Jim

Jim, if your engine has them,On the RHS in behind the Chassis rail you'll see a row of 6 of these things..(You will only see the Oval Bit & row Studs)

I’m thinking these are where they would go , there are six and they sit at the same place under where the pistons sit.

The 230 s were a budget motor for IH ,and basically a 250 with a turbo..........far as I remember ,they had no seat inserts for inlet valves either...........just be sure you dont have one of the famous "taper nose" cranks........the later crank has the damper bolted directly to the crank nose.................i doubt you would have a taper ,they all broke under 100,000 miles.
