looks like the "trailer" in front of it is actually welded onto the frame of the Chev so I am guessing it's weight in front is holding the very shortened rear up

Having lived through a pandemic I now understand all the painting of fat people on couches!

I'm thinking it would be an interesting thing to steer before you got used to it.

Interesting? Darned near impossible, I think unless you spend hours practicing in an area without traffic.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Good point but guess they have changed the steering arms to suit, would not be to hard.

Hi,

would be a bit of a surprise to other road users to find at the last minute that there is a 15' trailer hanging out the front of these vehicles. Around an airport or dock I can understand, but the guy in the top photo stopped at a set of lights hasn't adjusted his driving to suit the fact he is pushing a trailer around out front.

I'm thinking the truck is on a turntable attached to the trailer frame ready for another connection via another turntable under the back end.

Guessing only.

Wouldn't it steer like a forklift?

No fun at high speed but fine below 20kmh.

Yes like a forklift, however in normal front axle configuration turning the steering wheel clockwise would see the unit heading left.
