The word is there was only 3 trucks built by Kenworth in the States for the TV Series, 2 are missing, and 1 is in a Shed. Have a look at this video clip, he would make a great Blue truck driver LOL ;D

I reckon Dave Dudley's version is better, shouldn't it be-"I've been taking little white pills and my eyes are open wide"?New mate might be a bit poliically correct eh?I gotta agree about old BJ's driving though,is that why they never screen the reruns?

the show ran for 3 seasons from 78-80.there was 3 trucks used for each season.the pilot episode used a k123 flat roof.the aerodynes were all powered by cummins.1 had a detroit.the cummins trucks were updated every season.the detroit truck was a stunt truck, constantly being repaired and used(abused)through the whole series.the same trailers were used throughout the whole series, there was three of them.at the moment a first season truck and a third season truck have surfaced, plus two trailers.the third season truck has been restored to much media attention, the first season truck&trailer could just be a little closer to home than we think.

i seen the flat roof model, he painted it Yellow with a paint brush and roller, to avoid the cops that were chasing him. 352rhd you seem to be in touch with what going on, thanks for your post keep it coming.

Agreed, great post about a great show.

Are the dvd's (and buying them over the net) any good? Picture quality??? I've been putting off buying this set for a while and would appreciate any feedback...

The only other bit of info regarding the trucks used in the show was that one of them may have been on display at Universal Studios in California at the height of the show's popularity. There's also some pics of another rig still running (replica perhaps?) in USA on the David E. Miller truck pic site. 352rhd may have more knowledge on this than me. Still it's good to see, even if it's a replica.

Will the rumoured truck (and trailer) mentioned in this thread remain as a left hooker?? Look forward to seeing pics or better still in the flesh!

Cheers
Rob
