The PTO depends if the truck is a 1820 0r a 1840.......different boxes ,different PTOs ......but since its a tipper its got a hydraulic PTO,so just run your crane from a hydraulic motor.......the ASC has likely got a mechanical F&R pto for the winch, unless you got one from a WW2 truck like a GMC or Studebaker, they are pretty hard to find.

The 5 speed gearbox i made reference to earlier is AACO 182.
The PTO cover plate for the ACCO 1820 5 speed gbox has a different part number than for the 182, and as John K suggests, the 1840 is different again.

Both have the std SAE 6 bolt pto openings ,but ptos are different.........the T35 box needs a helical gear takeoff ,the T54 box is straight tooth 6/8 pitch ,which is a pretty standard setup over most of the Fuller boxes.......even Roadrangers can take a smaller pto by using an adapter plate 8 bolt to 6............Im surprised that a truck backender can even get a lookin with Cranesafe and all that crap........why not get a BHB 10/12 ton, they sell for very little now,and are a really good crane for visibility all round.

Why don't you sell both the new and old inters you have and grab this. No stuffing around ready to go with modern hydraulics.

An old pole erector /borer...less the borer........not much use as a yard crane.........for the same money ,there are any number of 10/12ton BHBs for sale........cranesafe has just about killed any older crane,as the inspections cost more than they are worth...........the whole idea of it,to make you buy a new crane.

Same goes for Hiab style cranes, they too have a life span before having to be rebuilt professionally and then re tested with the new tag fitted.

I don't know about the truck but I think the dog is not worth much except for eating scraps from your plate!

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!
