Wrong Diff ??

So I found a engine 345 , 4 speed transmission and a 6.16 diff out of a 1610 acco and I know it’s what it is because a mate and I drove 4 hours , I be a 1610a , I pay the man and where gone , sitting on about 95 , I was going to sit on 100 km but we had over half a tonne on the tray and probably almost a tonne in my 7x4
Ok so we unload and I’m looking at the diff the new one is almost half as big again????
I’ll tell you right now a 1610 isn’t the same,
The 1610 has air over hydraulics , the 610 has vacuum over hydraulic, the 1610 has a larger diff than the 610
Now here’s my question, will the 1610 diff fit under and the diff ratio is the same with the same the ratio is the same u bolts should fit?

the Dana diff is post bankruptcy....your truck is approx 5 years earlier ,at least ,maybe 10....The pics dont tell much.....but if the spring centrebolt holes are the same distance apart ,there will be no problems interchangeing the axles ....The U bolts in later inters are generally spring width,all the axle mountings are loose pieces.

I’m guessing that because the ratio is the same 6.16 , and the the wheel diameter is the same everything should gel yeah ? , its a lot bigger ( half as big again) and being in two wheel drive 95-99% will be ok.

Your busted diff looks very small to me....the one you just got is about 1600size......wonder if your truck has a 510 diff in it?....Anyhoo,needs must when the devil drives.

I thought the same about the diff but different, that must be right, now get the diff to fit where It wasn’t meant to be ,,,,, Tomorrow or Sunday when the mood strikes lol oh well john l have ten more questions for you on tomoz or Friday , cheers all

Have many trucks do you have to have to have a fleet ...... lol and they both go ( should be both but lately one at a drive) atm...
