Are you trying to take a truck to tassie to pick a new purchase?
I bought back a car years ago by going over with a falcon ute and booking two cars back . I got the un-registered vehicle to Devonport with the help of a friends trailer and then connected the second vehicle up to the Ute with an A frame and had someone sit in it and when I got to the ticket box I just told them car died on the way to Devonport and I had to towed it on board. And make sure you are in the middle of the pack with lots of traffic behind you and they will decide it is too much of hassle to get you out of the queue. It is much cheaper to book two vehicles than a vehicle with a trailer.

A couple of clips of the attempt.
I used to work up there with someone that was on the support crew.

That was the second water crossing Moke he tried, the first one didn't involve an inflatable or an outboard as it was driving by paddles on the front tyres.
In the above attempt you can see the yellow expanded foam along the bottom and it pretty much filled the whole boat and then when he landed on Victorian shores he needed the help of the Moke club for hours to clean all the foam off the bottom of the Moke and from the wheel arches and engine bay etc. and then told them to bugger off when they ask if they could put a club sticker on the Moke for their assistance.
He drove the Moke from the bottom of Tasmania to Cape Yorke and hit a buffalo on the way back and destroyed the Moke.

They do a roll- on, roll- off service, l believe is cheaper than the searoad service.
