1956 Standard 8 bought in Port Pirie and driven back to Brisbane. went across Nullarbor in 1956 in same car as a kid. Sold ASAP on arrival!
Beaut old ThornycroftI bought in Corowa. Ran great. The old boys used to float a Cat D-8 behind it. One said "Lucky it is flat around here. The Thornycroft is like a railway cup of tea - really big and really weak!" Rex might have something more on this.
The Dodge Staff car in Turkey on its way to France.
Fiat 500 starting off on its trip around the world in Vladivostok Russia.

another lot
Commer ready to set off from Brisbane to Newcastle last year with a mate's Perkins powered Ford F700. Poor old Commer died at Tenterfield on the way home so it has now gone to a new owner with more energy than me to repair it.
1941 Dodge like my current one. Hundreds of bush and beach hours. About 1980
Same Dodge with the full crew when we were much younger. Had an old Holden seat in the back for the kids and the dog.
Morris Minor bought sight unseen in Tasmania a couple of years ago for a trip back to Brisbane with 10 year old grandson. Did we have fun! Sold the day I got home.
The cook with our MK1 3.8 E Type Jaguar about 1969. Pregnant and unable to get behind the wheel caused a swap for a MkII 3.8 Jaguar Saloon.

Running out without going to the old pre-digital photo box.
Ex mines Nissan Patrol. In the Simpson I actually broke this in half (both chassis rails paper thin from rust broke behind the cab) and it sat down in a "V" shape on the sand near Poeples Corner. Jacked it up, welded a couple of old springs under the chassis and continued out of the desert, all the way to Cape York and back to Brisbane.
Rescued this rare WW2 Standard Tilly (modified after WW2 in South Australia). Now runs around at shows with a mate who has done nothing but put tyres and fuel into it.
Just sneaking in to Queensland from Corowa with the OKA a couple of weeks back

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

I will try to pu
t some pix up but no promises.
I cannot seem to put captions on the so, in the order that I attached them, the first two are the "business end" of my 1927 Morris Commercial D Type Six Wheeler, the next is a 1920's Austin tractor in a private collection in New Zealand las time I was there, and the last one is a WW1 Austrin twin-tailshaft truck in the same collection.

Lang, I had to do a double take at your Jag when I saw PGA xxx....My grandfather's VC Regal8 sedan was PGA683. He refused to sell it to me about 1990 because it was "getting tired". He traded it in and I often wonder where it is now. It was in good cosmetic condition, so would have survived.

Hi Lang,
Could you clarify something for me and to do with the Clarke Tow Motor. It is a tug sold by Clarke/lift and they labelled it a tow motor but early Caterpillar were also known as Towmotor. Was it just the spelling that made the difference or am I on another planet?
