The cook is going through all our photos (thousands of them). I walked in and amongst all the crap on weddings and babies there was a box of vehicle stuff. Didn't know how many vehicles I have owned. I tend to buy and often restore a vehicle for a particular show or expedition and sometimes just because then after they have served their purpose move them on in 3 months or 3 years. Military vehicles have been a constant interest but pretty broad taste for anything old.

Here are just a few scroll through if you are interested:

This is not the start but I find it interesting. It was taken 18 Feb 1965 the day before my 18th birthday. You can see my brand new Commer, brand new outfit and brand new ropes. The next day on my 18th birthday I headed out of Hartridge's yard in Footscray Road on my very first interstate run to Sydney.

This was about 6 months later on my first trip to Perth.

This is my Bedford and CAP crane when I was in Marine Construction

This is my pretty unusual Commer during that early 80's construction period.

I will throw up just a small collection of my military vehicles.

First is a 1945 Chevrolet ute which I took to Europe for the D-Day celebrations held every 5 years.

Here we are with the 16 other Aussie and Kiwi vehicles at Mont St Michel in France. Bev and I organised the convoy from Istanbul to France and we had a great time.

Just one of several Blitz trucks. This one a 15cwt Chevrolet. Finished Blitz's for me when driving on the beach at Fraser Island, hit a ditch and the cook flew up split her head open on the roof and fell semi-conscious across the engine box. Refused to go in them again, don't know why?

Now this is one she really liked. I bought this in England for the 45th Anniversary of D-Day in 1989. A beautiful GMC 6x6 Workshop truck, all military on the outside but fitted up with double bed, kitchen and shower inside.

Another Blitz tipper.

Dodge 3/4 ton weapon carrier on Bribie Island

Another Chevrolet ute but wood back this time on the way to Townsville

Humber 3/4 ton. The most complicated over-engineered vehicle the poms have ever built.

My 1942 Piper L-4 Piper Cub spotter plane. I bought 2 of these in the Philippines and restored them in Brisbane. One of the most delightful aircraft to fly that has ever been built. Beside it is my first Dodge 1/2 ton weapon carrier.

The second Cub being towed by my 3/4 ton Dodge weapon carrier at Redcliffe.

1915 Willys Overland we drove around Queensland for Prostate Cancer Council.

Quite proud of this one. An MQ Nissan Patrol station wagon which I converted to a good looking ute. Poor thing met its demise when I tried to cross the McArthur River in NT near Borroloola. Water came over the roof, sucked in a gutful of water and although it got out the other side pushed the head up and blew the headgasket out'

Really nice Model TT truck but Oh so slow!

The cook in a 1915 Model T I built up for my Daughter's wedding.
