The Best Truck Movies
Here are some that really rate. They are not the American kids' movies like Convoy etc.
The acknowledged best truck movie of all times is "Wages of Fear" about carting nitro-glycerine in South America but it might be a bit too subtle and old school for some people. Here is a free Youtube for you to watch. www.dailymotion.com/video/x6jg3bu
Another is "The Big Gamble" 1961 which tells the story of an Irish adventurer in Africa trucking with an old WW2 Crossley. River crossings, roll overs and hanging over cliffs. Still trying to find a free download.
"Sorcerer" is a modern version of "Wages of Fear"

The Long Haul starring Victor Mature & Diana Dors. Captures the atmosphere of a Leyland Octopus
Destination Dohar; A 1977 BBC doco about the 5000 km "middle east run" from Britain to Arabia. 98 mins. Hardly a Yank truck in sight.

The film with MeatLoaf was Black Dog. Also had Patrick Swayze and Randy Travis in it. And the Peterbilt, don't forget the Peterbilt. Wrecked a few trucks in the film too.
The film tells the story of a trucker and ex-con who is manipulated into transporting illegal arms. The film co-stars country and rock musicians Randy Travis and Meat Loaf.
