Has the advantage that it most likely has not been strained if only carrying poles.
A lot of work and cost to clean up the rust and put on a deck.
Perhaps the other bidder ( s ) have a use for it as is.
Just an opinion, Paul.

I appreciate all your comments and apologise for not following up earlier. I didn't win the item at the 2020 auction and have since had quite a number of issues demanding my time, unfortunately only escalating (I feel for others who also face struggles).

However, I am now just recently the proud owner of this trailer. Whilst I did not get a bargain, I am quite happy with it. At least I can stop searching for used trailers to buy!

The trailer come up for auction at least two times again. I did not act on the first repeat but I won it the last time. The owner had actually sold it prior to the last auction so the process is a bit of a mystery.

Now some may think I'm silly (including family members once they find out), given my situation, but I've secured it even if it takes a while to get it useable. Who knows when or where I could find another or worse if this one was sent to the scrapper.

Now the fun begins to pick it up, finding the make and chassis number needed for rego (more on this later). I don't even have a turntable on the truck yet!

Good on you Brad.

It seems as if it payed to be patient, to finally get just what you wanted. Well done, and good luck with it.

Brett.

For rego and my own curiosity I would like to know the make and year, anyone know or can give some pointers?

For some reason I thought Krueger, but I think that was matching up landing legs or the leg struts to other trailers. Now I'm thinking Freighter, only because it has an ROR - Rubery Owen-Rockwell axle. A forum search for Rubery Owen found a member mentioned Freighter used RO-R axles.

Auction description says circa 1985 but I have my doubts due to steel mudguards and chassis steel is imperial size. Imperial sizes phased out in 1976 or before I believe.

I'm hoping chassis number is behind the plate welded to the front LHS.
