Removing the trailer brakes off inter 1600.

Don’t know too much about it. If you see in the photo what I have circled is this all for trailer brakes or does is it used for truck brakes also? Basically just wanting to blank off the trailer brakes but not sure where to do it.

Thanks

I've got a 1969 C1600 Inter, that canister is the filter for the vacuum part of the brake system for the truck.
Can't help you with the trailer part of the question, but , if it's fitted with a vacuum handpiece , perhaps work your way back to where it's plumbed into the system and blank it off , maybe.
Others on this forum will be able to share other thoughts on this.

Thanks.
The red hose teed in before the canister goes to the vacuum brakes so I think that’s where i blank it. Just didn’t know what the canister was

the truck itself relies on vacuum for the brakes aswell, I should have mentioned that in my previos post.

WAG
the black hose is for truck ...red hose is for trailer
take the red hose off @ the 'T' with the black hose
do away with the 'T' n put in a straight barb connector to rejoin the black hose
if its dun wrong and it sux from atmosphere to engine will run like crap

Swishy and I would be the only blokes here, old enough to remember VoH trailer brakes and all I ever knew about them was that you had to help them by holding your hankie out of the window.
Probably why mums used to say wear clean undies and tak a clean hankie. Neither stayed that way for long. :S

I well recall Vac over Hyd trailer brakes ...Ive got a vacuum S cam trailer in the yard, the whole axle and brakes made by PBR.for Freighter........The proper vac/hyd PBR setup had a giant diaphragm chamber and a hyd cylinder that screwed into to it......but the catch with hyd trailer brakes is you could boil them off,and have nothing.
