Turn the aircon down low. But unfortunately back then a/c was a long way off. Had to be content with the window down or the real thing.

1 No Doze has the same caffeine as a cup of coffee. IMHO if bosses were paying drivers by the hour (plus penalty rates) instead of the kilometer there would be no need for any of this BS. 24 hours in a day less a compulsory 7 hour break means up to ** hours working. This is why I won't do interstate driving jobs anymore.

I'd rather have tools that I don't need, than not have the tools I do need.

The genuine Yippee beans of the 1950s interstate drivers were methamphetamine........commonly known today as ice or crystal meth......The catch was a driver high on beans could drive for a week non stop, but couldnt sleep afterwards ,so he had to take sleeping pills by the handfull...

Methadrine and Benzadrine were the drugs in use (and probably still are). These were standard issue to aircrew during WW2 to keep them awake on 8 hour night missions

What was your Auntie’s name Swanny? I think a lot of interstate truck drivers in the 60s and 70s must have been related. lol.
