Pre me, my truck got an alternator and there is what ithink is a a tiny solid reg on the fire wall. Otherwise the alternator must have an inbuilt one.

Yep, I mean the one for the gauges - I don't see one on the circuit. They're only about 1/2" x 1". Anything with hot wire type gauges normally has them.

That makes me less helpful, I didn't find anything like that, though typical old truck, many mystery wires added and others cut. Fuses made redundant by vast globs of solder..... I immediately added more wire, 26 fuses, and several switches, can't remember now why, what for or what they do, but the lights all work...... Sometimes.
