1946 Mack bus was created by Dave_64
Read with some interest about the 1946 Mack bus for sale on another forum. Seems had a Reo Gold Comet petrol engine, going by the accompanying spiel, quite a common fit, even as an original. My late father drove both the Macks and the Whites for a local bus company in NSW, after returning from New Guinea at the cessation of hostilities. Both makes were quite expensive at the time, very few diesel powered vehicles being available. I could well be wrong in saying this, but I would have thought both White and Mack had their own petrol engines in the era, but could have simply been whatever was available at the end of the war. Just seeing the old Mack took me back many years to where I would go with my late father on Sunday "picnic" bus trips, a huge thrill for a little kid.

At the risk of thread drift with the every first reply. Diesel certainly wasn't common, Army driver's licences during WWII had a separate nomination for endorsement to drive
