Its funny how he liked using real places in his music and now thanks to youtube you can follow what he was describing.
Recenttly listening to "Black Bear road" made me think how real his story was, so watching youtube I watched a complete journey of someone driving it down to Telluride. Pretty hairy.
And as you said "Wolf Creek Pass" were it drops down into Pagosa Springs. Never did find the feed store on the google maps

Slim Dusty also had some great trucking songs. I have his 4 disc box set titled "Sitting on 80" that I slip into the player on my computer while I am doing some extended reading, and/or watch the videos on You Tube. I took the box set to one of our local chapter truck shows and their sound man played several of them during the afternoon with a good crowd response.
