Some historic photos are starting to come in. Here are more K5 Inters in Alice Springs. The modern photo taken from a spot not too far from the second wartime photo.

Lang, I particularly liked the picture of the 1934 AEC? roadtrain prime mover on the back of a railway wagon. I saw it in a suburban driveway (of the man who restored it, I think) In Alice Springs at least 40 years ago. I heard later that it had been taken to Darwin.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

It appears to have been taken over by the army during the war going from the camouflage colours.

What type of busted plane is this Federal towing ?

Anyone have the story behind the photo?

The AEC roadtrain was owned by the Commonwealth government I'm pretty sure so no doubt it was sent were ever needed and it only required a little bit of paper work
