Not sure if this is the place to post it but I am looking for an old 1 pint oil tin with a screw on lid for my latest project. Will consider any and all sorts.

Hi John, thanks for that. After posting the thread I looked at thinners cans and some of the 1 litre cans just might do the job. I went into Bunnings this morning knowing exactly what I wanted then abd noticed a sign when checking in of "no browsing" and that is exactly what I need to do to find what I want. I guess if I keep walking, I'm not browsing.

On the paint subject,I recall the sandblasters used to get cartons full of empty screw lid tins for putting small quantities of paint chemicals ......I once stuffed up to some extent by delivering some MEKP to Hockney Alcan in a steel tin......unfortunately ,it seems steel is a no no with peroxide ,and the stuff failed to harden the vinyl coating in a tanker .......because it was someone elses problem ,I didnt get a kick up the arse .......bet I wasnt flavour of the month at Hockneys.

There is a huge range of anodised and painted aluminium water bottles of all shapes and sizes. Those Indian 2 dollar places have heaps as well as Target etc.

I used a 1 litre thinners tin for a fuel tank on my SE McDonald. It works, but is quite thin.

I thought that the thinners can would be thinner than thin too. As for the lawn mower tanks I do have numerous ones of those from the Rotomo model and later but are all wrong in shape but thanks to you both for the feedback.
