Swishy,

I know you are new to the forum so you need to press the insert button to make the images appear. :)

My Father did not ever own a truck but for several years he had a Morris Eight Series Z Ute. Once he took two pigs to the abattoir in it. He had to go over their weighbridge and found that the Ute was overloaded. I do not have a picture of him so will put up a picture of My Father-In-Law who is the one I miss. For years he drove the Number One Crane Truck for the SEC.(state Electricity Commission of Victoria)

Because I know how excited you will be to see it, I also put up a picture of my Brother-In-Law's 75th Birthday. He said it was the first Birthday party he had ever had. Sadly he passed away early this year and because of Covid restrictions, I was not able to go and see him before he died.
People in the Picture are- Trish's friend Brian, my Sister Trish, Morris, Mrs Morris, my Sister Dawn and the Birthday Boy himself, Bill.

The Insert button has disappeared. Maybe that is why Swishy did not hit it.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

My Dad was a bit past driving in this photo, he was missing both legs by this stage, but he used to give his gopher a pretty hard time and still drove his landcruiser with hand controls. It's funny when I look at this photo, not only was that his favourite place but also about 10 feet from where he died. Dad was always king of the kids but never lived to see any grandkids of his own, happy fathers day dad.

.Dad was born on the NSW goldfields in 1898.
Left school at 13 .......worked in the bush for most of his life .....
Self taught at everything he did ..........
There wasnt much he couldnt do .........typical bushie ..........
If anybody or any thing was sick ,he was the bloke to fix you..........
If your animals were sick or injured .. he could fix them.......
If your car was broken down . he would get you going ............
Definately a genius in his own wright ...........

Dad & Mum.
I still miss them..............

Typical of him ...........
Worked at the building of Warragamba Dam in the early days........
The chiefs at the time couldnt get a new formwork bending machine to operate properly .........
in comes the old man and sorts out the problem to every ones amazement ............
................Billy...............

I CAME INTO THIS WORLD WITH NOTHING & STILL HAVE MOST OF IT.........................

I used to be a truck driver,
but i am now not a truck driver ,
on a good day i can remember
that i used to be a truck driver.

this is my Dad, Ray who also unfortunately is no longer with us and we all sorely miss him. The Mini Moke was a little work horse for him to run around in and he made a set of ladder racks to cart lengths of guttering around on as this was his weekend work for some extra cash to keep us mongrel kids in a home.
Love you Pa.

My dad, a true English gentleman, and I, as we were one Christmas, about 35 years ago. Typical cheapskate me bought the $5 hats for the significant males in our immediate family. They all fitted beautifully and were still going strong for at least three years after that. He did attempt to drive a bus for the London Transport but cleaned up a traffic island coming out of the depot and was told to get out - eventually became Assistant Chief Depot Inspector thereafter. His one wish was to see the 21st Century, but fell short by one month. :(

Unfortunately not the greatest image, my scanner is on the blink and this was a photo of a photo - never the best approach! Sorry dad.
