The Argosy across the road has those steps which does make it easier to get in n out of. Even the driver agrees now as he too ages.

Here is the Freightliner system. Leave in with ladder for fit blokes, run out with steps for fat blokes.

Kenworth also offered a similar system.

So today picked up a new 909 from the factory and then swapped her over with a t610.

I must say , I really like this 610.
Integrated bunk is very roomy and the updated dash is catching up to what Scania offered in the late 2010s lol

But it is a very nice bit of kit. I guess that’s why I’m seeing so many on the Highway.

I love the 909s but I can see why people are warming to the 610s, Ive driven a few and I;m starting to warm to the new interior layout but I shudder to think what they are going to be like to work on electrically as they age and the abs and stability control make the brakes feel more disconnected from the driver.

It'll be good when they release the 910, especially if the mirrors are improved.

I honestly jumped in the 909 and could not believe they still use those mirrors lol

So dropped off the t610 and picked up this sweet looking t410 sar…

Iv always liked the look of these but never driven 1…

So, this 1 has a “paccar/ daf whatever it’s called” engine mated to an 18spd box..

It’s definitely an odd combination.
It reminds me of the jap trucks with roadrangers..
iv driven heaps of them and to me it feels like the engine revs to freely and makes it an odd match to a rr box..

Dunno if that makes sense lol
But yeh, It’s odd…

Sounds like a good combo to me! Most modern stuff won't rev, and instead makes you change a squillion gears to get anywhere, especially when you just want to move between groups of hay bales in the paddock when loading.

So, another euro truck today..

Scania r580..
Iv driven a few g-cabs before but this is the first R…

Honestly, these things are so far ahead of pretty much anything else it’s not funny….

You can debate how they’ll last, how well everything will fair over time…

But the trim is very nice, the switchgear and buttons are honestly on par with any euro car.
The cab is so quiet and she rides lovely..

From a drivers point of view , this is honestly the best truck I’ve driven.
