I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

I knew a bloke who used to deliver trucks, new and used, similar sort of job that Oyamum is doing. He had his own Trade Plate. He used to take his pushbike with him, ride it to the neatest railway station and take the bike on the train home.

Yeh , the push bike isn’t a bad idea. Iv thought about doing it.
iv set myself an arbitrary walking limit lol
Basically I can catch an Uber or taxi when I drop the trucks off.
However since I’m not exactly the skinniest bloke in the world I figure some exercise would do me good.
So if where I’m going is less than 3km and I have enough time I’ll walk it..
Not exactly a “workout” lol
But better than a taxi.

Thanks for keeping us updated on your exploits.. Looking forward to some landscape shots along the way?
I would think the receiving dealer would be happy enough to get their new truck that they could give you a ride to where you need to go in the parts truck, or salesman's car???

I'd rather have tools that I don't need, than not have the tools I do need.

I did some deliveries to Tassie with time slots over 3 days, so I put my push bike in the tautliner. Was almost a holiday for me. LOL

So yesterday morning had to a little local drop of this k108…. From Port Melbourne to Ravenhall (about 20k)
Let’s just say 20k was more than enough time in this truck
But then picked up this fuel tanker from sunshine and start making my way to Darwin.
This prime mover even though a few years old only has 10,500k…
Yep that’s ten and a half thousand lol
It’s a defence force truck hence the k’s…
Anyway made it to tailem bend last night.
Anyone interested in cars, swing past the Rydges hotel at “the bend” racetrack..
The lobby is awesome and honestly the staff and rooms were great too.
But anyway here’s my pics so far lol
Made it to coober pedy tonight…

One of my mates drove that 108 for a few months before moving on again, he said she had had a fair few drivers and that’s never good for trucks.

Yeh , unfortunately multiple drivers really will ruin a good thing.. it’s sad too because the truck has good bones.. could be a nice jigger..
So made it to today-trie tonight about 180k north of Alice springs… plenty of rain on the road out here

Ive never stayed at the Rydges, its a bit close to home, but I used to rub up against the cars pretty regularly before the government morons pulled the mask bs again.
