Dad bought a new 1418 in 1977 (one of the last) and I think he paid $30k. Also bought a new White bogie chassis tipper and I seem to recall it was $15k. The truck was already painted in Trans West colors (someone had ordered it and then cancelled) and fitted with hydraulics so new rig on the road for $45k. 7 years (and a couple of gearboxes and a diff later) traded on a new Scania P82M and I think they gave him $10k trade in (had a bit of rust by then). The Scania was a beautiful truck.

Any clues on the make of the "vintage" car o the top of the trailer in last week's entry? It appears to have a V type radiator.

Initially I thought the same, but as I said, the radiator looks to be v shaped. Dunno, been wrong before.
