I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Grandad, Thanks for the pictures. I did not know what you meant about height sensors until I got to the last two pix. Very scientific? They are still used today, not those blokes they would be too old to climb up there but modern ones.

Re 1st photo, Annis & Co rebuilt several Diamond Ts with naturally aspirated Gardner 8LW engines, and this is one of them which has a row of 8 cylinder head side covers fitted on each side of the bonnet as seen in the photo.
The son of the firm's founder, Roger Annis has restored a special heavy duty Scammell 4 x 2 haulage tractor, also with a Gardner 8LW.

I will tip my hat to the Bedford semi when you don't have any thing else just get the job done.

Looks like it could go in Swishy's SWB thread, too.

You be looking for an S model and bogey trailer for the turbine blades now Rex? Lot cheaper than what you are using now.

I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I have mentioned this before but you can't get around the fact British trucks were, as a group, the worst looking vehicles ever made.
Great, interesting photos that demonstrate Archimedes theory about a fulcrum and a lever moving the world. With the right gearing you can produce enough force to move anything regardless of power input - you just do it more slowly. They certainly knew how to use what they had.

Keep 'em coming, Grandad and others. These are just what I want to see.
