N14 in a SAR was created by Waldo52
Has anyone put a N14 in a 1980's Kenworth SAR as I think I would have to extend the bonnet. Any help would be gratful

Gday Waldo,
Yes, I’ve got one- N14 in an 84 SAR. The nose has been extended to clear to intercooler. Looks a little odd, but I’m well used to it now!!
I’ll see if I can chuck up a pic for you.

I know of an S2 with a mechanical N14 fitted :whistle:

I know nothing about this so probably disregard, but wouldn't it easier to go back towards the cab a inch or two, even if it involved shifting the cab say two inches and opening the gap between the bonnet and the cab up a inch, I really have no idea but wonder if it would end up neater for ever

the trouble with moving the cab or the bonnet forward it puts the wheel guard out of centre with the steer axle

din KW SAR have an option of straght 6 350HP cummins
Has your SAR got the hump in the cab floor to take the 6 cykinders
350 HP ... 61"L ... 52"H ... 1215kg

Swishy, The Problem is; The N14 use a Air to Air Aftercooler mounted in front of the radiator. .Whereas the Big Cummins uses a Water jacket aftercooler bolted on the Intake Manifold..

If Waldo's SAR was Fitted with a Cummins the N14 should bolt straight In... It's Mounting the Aftercooler where the Problem Is..!!

I didn't explain myself very well, leave the bonnet were it is and shift the cab on its and just open the gap up between the bonnet and the cab

Most trucks have some over lap there and I wouldn't think it would be as noticeable as pushing the grill further forwards

End of the day it isn't my truck just chucking a idea about thats all
