I did wimp out on winchin th@ tank on to trailer
we had a few loads to cart and bit bizzy
it had sat for a few years and as you kno the track pins all get a bit of rust on them and make it hard to roll
so organised Eagle Towing to load the beast ...... but in my defence u're honor I did winch and drag it off the fload down @ the wharf
our winches are only set up to winch up the FGLL and not heavy winchin & recovery work

Pretty sure it went to Europe
A joker from England went to the local tank museum auction
and bourght up big for others in Europe
at 1st I was not interested cos of trying to collect money for work done
but things changed when he paid for transport up front







Rumor has it
that the Australian Govt were not interested in the collection
so he auctioned some of it off

A few weeks ago Michael contacted me and wanted to kno if I would like a photo of our truck
he said they are redoing the Caterpillar office and it needed to go
I had heard over the years there was a pic on the wall at Caterpillar W.A.T.
So yeaster day I pikd up the pic
and to say I twaz
pleased as punch is an understatemenr



other than getting Tonys surname rong and not sure about the date I think it was more like 1965 +- a year
the float and dolly @ 14foot wide was built by Steco with us supplying Rogers tank transporter Suspension and wheels

First sod for Waverley Park was turned at ceremony on 5 Jan 1966, so Swishy guess of '65 +/- a year sounds right.
