Lorry has vacuum/hydraulic brakes and the low vacuum buzzer only goes off if you release the hand brake lever. There is a red light onthe dash to warn you there is not enough vacuum.
Would mnot full air brakes have a similar system?

Similar...a low pressure buzzer and light, and if the truck is full air, then you cant release the maxis until you get up enough pressure,or air over hydraulic ,it may still have a maxi brake on the parking brake......older trucks can have just a lever,or Pommy trucks were quite complicated ...the handbrake was hooked up to the air chambers ,and some Pommy trucks had triple diaphragm air chambers ,with one set hooked to the handbrake.
