The state of our roads - back in 50s! was created by allan
This 20 minute vid is much more than the link suggests - it's more about the foresight needed to build good roads.
Still very much appropriate today I guess. We've gone past the shovel and wheelbarrow days, and spend heaps of money but for what end result?
PS Lots of old trucks, cars and even a caravan.

And to think that Walter Shapowloff (of Kwikasair fame) wanted to build a 4 lane highway between Melbourne and Sydney in the mid 50s ... He was to fund/build it and place a toll on only the interstate vehicles (both private and commercial) and once he had recouped his outlay (and not a penny more) would hand it over to the government for the good of all.
But apparently that wasn't good enough for the government at the time ...go figure :huh: :dry:

Lots of interesting trucks there........spotted one fellow seemed to be standing on a semi holding cars on
