When operating earth moving equipment my Boss asked me what do I do with all the grease he delivers me. Pump it into all the joints every morning, 3 pumps each. Never had a worn bush and only lost about 40 hrs in down time in 8 years on that machine.
Maintenance does work as do careful operators.

The motors that had really bad run were the Vseries Benz and the similar MANs.........the V10s were often replaced by 903s in MANs and Benzes.....and parts prices were astronomical too............seen a V6 Benz replaced by a 540 Perkins
