Mercedes Benz model 116 Ute

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Does anyone have any information about a Mercedes car-based ute? The owner says it is a 1964 and the body plate states that is is a model 116. When I try to search on the internet, all I can find is W116 cars from the 1980s. This one does not have a grille or motor but the headlights and the seats look more like 1980's to me.

Thank You Lang.
None of the ones shown in the pictures are identical to the one I am asking about. The greenish-grey one, fourth from the bottom of the ones shown in the second of your attachments, is the closest. It has the large rectangular headlights of the one I am asking about. The treatment of the rear of the cab looks similar also. The one I know of has vertical taillights a bit similar, but with vertical sides, to those on the earliest version of the Vito.
Oh well, I should stick to Morrises!

The W116 is the predecessor of the W126.
The 116 were all 6 cylinders and as far as I know there was never a factory ute.
It should have chrome bumpers and if a 116 it should have a compliance plate on the firewall.
Possibly a private import as quite a few came in from Hong Kong back in the late 80's.
The taillights may have come from a different model of vehicle to suit the fitment of a tailgate as the original lights would have made for a skinny tailgate.

Thanks, Zuffen.
This one has no bumpers left. The ID plate on the firewall says Model 116, definately not W116.

The Ute is interstate so I cannot get my own pictures. I will try tonight to upload what pix I have but don't hold your breath, I have a lot of trouble doing so.
