I can confirm the 345 V8 in the Scout is pretty thirsty. However, running on LPG it’s cheaper to run than a V8 diesel Landcruiser and more reliable too. In this picture I had about half tonne of parts in the Scout on the trailer and the Scout towed the trailer from Melbourne to Canberra sting on 110 all the wat even though two cylinder weren’t firing properly becuase of burnt out exhaust valves.

IMO Dodge is a far better engine, plus better fuel economy and far better noise from twin pipes.

The brickworks on the next hill to here had a fleet of 8 wheeler butterbox ACCOs with 392 s and Allisons ......the trucks were seriously old when replaced by S lines in the 1980s ...........the butterbox 8 wheelers were a pretty rare truck .

The bogie drive butterboxes looked like they had big diffs .......however ,the drive gears were only about 160 size ,as were the hubs, axles and wheel bearings.............the big diff housings were mostly empty space.

I'd rather have tools that I don't need, than not have the tools I do need.

My sister-in-law sent me these pictures of an Inter parked near her home in Sydney. It's very interesting to me because those front guards look like they have been be professionally reshaped to fir a wider axle, and also extended down to flow into the step. The emblem on the door looks like NSW Fire Brigade. Is this a modification the Firies in NSW did to there Inters?

All the 4x4 Inters like this have a fiberglass flare as shown

Most are old fire trucks like this one

I'm with Scout on this one.
I have seen the fibreglass flares, they bolt on with a piping in the join, and the front edge doesn't always line up too well.  My Uncle has a set on a D5N700 Dodge.
These look very much like one piece to me, just from what i can see in the photos.  Interesting.

    Brett.
