The first K5 photo is an American built truck (no quarter windows) with an original US type rear tray and gates. Must have gone to the railways early in the game - maybe even delivered during the war.

Yes , most people don't realise there were Lend - Lease IH and Ford trucks plus other brands apart from Chevrolet. The naa archives holds some large files relating to LL vehicles, the documents are written in 'public service' style wording, with suggestions and other ideas being floated. It's hard to sort out the facts from the fiction.
I found one document where IH USA were trying to sell their army 4x4 trucks to the Australian Govt. sales brochures were sent .

NAA archive - registration documentation and a couple of PMG trucks, one in camouflage. A Dodge WC 21 in PMG service. GMC and crew in a Brisbane parade, wartime.
Apart from miliitary vehicles, some other authorities painted their vehicles in camouflage , buses were one example, don't think this was a universal practice. Following the UK example, some car owners painted white trimmings on their cars and fitted blackout covers to headlights.

Some Inter-esting pictures from the Scout Inter-Nationals 2025 gathering at Echuca a couple of weeks ago, which coincided with the Lockington Vintage Machinery show
