Dodge 5 speed transmissions

Hi All, Came across a transmission the other day. reckon it was used by Dodge trucks, possibly the bogie drive HD models that were maybe SEVEN series, so going back a bit.
I had heard of the transmission but had not actually seen one.
I do remember some of the bogie drive Dodges with 610 Road rangers, one I'm trying to find info on probably came out around the same time as the Inter T34 5 speed direct boxes with the 3 speed Spicer auxiliaries,
These bogie drive Dodges would have been used in say, concrete agitators and such.
I do know some of these later 5 speeds were available in both direct and overdrive versions, some again in Spicer or maybe even Clarke.
I possibly may be getting these confused with these but am thinking along the lines of possibly the Fuller or Rockwell versions.
5 speed DIRECT, similar pattern to Inters T34, hooked up to the 3 speed Spicer auxiliary, 2.4 to 1 underdrive, 1 to 1 direct and around 0.85 to 1 overdrive.
Underdrive was mostly used for crawling out of a hole, once you got going, you just used direct and overdrive like a two speed with the main transmission.
Some of these Dodge transmissions may have been used in conjunction with single drive versions with two speed diffs, similar to Inters T34.
Some of you blokes may have had a bit to do with them, or even had one, so if you know anything about them, what series, maker (leaning towards Fuller, but wouldn't discount Clarke) any info would be appreciated,
Thank, Dave_64
Did find one guy who had one in a bogie drive petrol engine,361, but he said that it was that long ago he couldn't remember, only that his son stuffed the twin sticker up and ended up putting a V653 with a 5 series Road ranger in it, drove it into the ground until rust claimed her pulling a twin deck cattle float widespread McGrath

Spicer certainly made a smallish 5 speed overdrive

I bought two across from the states last year 3052A

There are slightly different models of the same thing and different bellhousings to suit most things

Thanks, Mrs
I have a feeling that those 3052A Spicers, both overdrive and direct versions were much later releases than the earlier 7 series Dodges that I was enquiring about.
The3052A was used , or so I have been led to believe, for many years in the AMGeneral multifuel 6x6 "duece and a half".
Not quite as heavy duty as the earlier Fuller or Clarkes.
The differing bellhousings may have been explained by some of them being cobbled to the "multifuels" or even the straight 6 Continental petrol engines.
They ran for many years with many differing power plants.
Cheers, Dave

Years ago, when I had a heap of cattle on lease blocks all over the place, I had a 160 Cummins with a five speed and a two-speed diff probably same thing. Sold it and the cattle when I went to work in the mines.

Couple at a clearing sale about 5 years back.
760 Series, 361 V8, 5 x 3 transmission.
Tandem tippers, running condition but rust, age and petrol power against them. Have to alter the parking brake for roadworthy too afaik.
Common set up in the early tandem drives, aimed at the agi and tipper market. Enough gears to get them moving and crawl onto sites.
Diesel motors and 610 RR an improvement in later models.

Dave you are correct about 3052 and 3053 use in those types of trucks

I believe they all started out as direct transmissions and through upgrades and the like they were made into "A" series transmissions (overdrive)

I don't think all the army vehicles got upgraded but a lot did

Someone smarter than me will know what all the numbers mean
I did know and confirm this before spending my hard earned

But I'll leave others to put that in as I can't 100% remember off the top of my head

"A" is over drive
Pretty sure the first numbers are the torque rating
In this case 300 foot pounds of torque
5 is the speed
And 2 or 3 or any other number is the casing materials
As in cast iron, aluminium
2 cast iron
3 aluminium
I think 1 is aluminium bell housing and cast iron trans

Anyway I'll let you blokes correct this all, as I have already said, I'm not 100% sure
I think it is fairly correct though

I think mine will be fine for what I have in mind though

Sorry Dave I don't think I'm much smarter than this

The bogie drive Dodges used by the BCC had ,of all things,Commer main boxes ...........the single drives 675 and 760 had two different New Process boxes ,both 5 speed direct ,but different .........cant recall the NP numbers ,but could find out ...........anyhoo,simply put ,the 318 motors had a different 5 speed to the 361 motors, and they are not interchangeable.

Long time ago,one of my customers was clearing out his late fathers farm ,and one of the scrap items he wanted gone was a chicken food elevator that was driven by a electric motor and a truck box..........the box was a brand new (nos) Dodge 361 V8 New Process 540 ,never been on a truck ........so I grabbed it before the scrap was taken away..........still got it ,maybe Ill use it someday .....There is a fair demand for the 318 V8 5 speed boxes ,as the trucks are quite common.,but not the bigger box .
