Important Update Regarding Your Subscription/Membership Dear Gerry, As you may be aware, a technical incident a few months ago significantly impacted our systems. Despite our best efforts, the ongoing effects of that incident have left us unable to continue offering the product originally purchased as your subscription or membership. We are currently finalising the process for issuing refunds to affected subscribers, covering any issues not provided during their paid subscription/membership period. We are truly devastated by this outcome and want to sincerely thank you for your support over the years. It’s been an honour to be part of your hobby and community. We’ll be in touch again shortly with more information regarding your refund and the next steps. With appreciation,Michelle ZavoneJarrah Publishing Pty Ltd

I received the above email from Jarrah Media Group on Thursday this week. I was not aware of "a technical incident a few months ago" mentioned in the email but it seems this is the end of TOMM. I was not going to renew my subscription anyhow but never good to see the end of a magazine where I was a subscriber for many years. I miss reading the magazine as it was and was not taken by the digital issues.Email:

No good at all
I suspect the truck magazine subscribers will be getting a similar email shortly
I have been subscribed to both over the years, stopped with TOMM some years ago, can't remember why now, I think it just drifted away from what I enjoyed

Yet more BS from the Editor who has trouble handling the truth. The excuses keep changing hoping you can forget about how she treated her faithful customers by not publishing ongoing issues, not returning phone messages or emails. All the time hoping you would just go away n forget about it.
HOWEVER
There is a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. A former long term employee has picked up the baton n wants to open her own version under a new name, H&VMA. Historic & Vintage Machinery Australia.

I spoke to the ex-employee who has hopes of starting up new mag at the National Rally where she had a stall. She has her faith in digital issues and talked of costs such as paying for a graphic artist and investment required for a (glossy) print run. Tried to impress on her that the demographic won't look at digital but would buy print on toilet paper if that's what it took but she just didn't get it. Almost like she was the author behind TOMM going digital.

I have to agree, I much prefer a magazine than a digital view on a phone

The latest development is that the National Historic Machinery Assn is to back the new magazine for "up to 6 digital issues" by which time it is expected to be able to stand on it's own feet. The deal here is that NHMA members get to see it for free. So good on NHMA for giving it a crack.
