We are rewiring a trailer rear bumper
and we need to join wires
problem with LED lights each one needs a earth wire
I can remember Fruehauf trailers have  wire joiners that were
a tapered insulated tightly wound spring
guessing about 30mm (1.1/4)Long x 20mm (3/4 Diameter)
the idea being you bared back the plastic on the wire ends and twist all the wires together to a point
then twisted them into the spring joiner
I need to kno the name of these dodadds and availability

Thanx in Advance

Try "twist on wire connector".

Not quite sure if that is what you are looking for?

Brett.

Swishy, the ones with the screws are BP connectors, short for blue point connectors, do a search and the screw on ones will probably come up, I am not a fan of either, I would use in line crimps or solder and heat shrink, unless of course you expect to be changing out smashed lights every other day, then I would use the ones with the screw.

I know the ones you mean Swishy, they used to come in the crimp grab kits. Jaycar can probably help you. I reckon they're pretty dodgy,  you could use eye or U crimp terminals and attach them to the lamp securing bolts.

We trying to keep away with screws aand crimp as both are not reliable after a few years

V8Ian
We made our own a few years back on different vehicles and trailers
thin cobveyor belt with small brass screws with a inch of thread and fir the wires with a soldered eye with brass nuts etc
too fiddly and a short in the circuit burnt the conveyer belt

JonD
U nailed it
not sure how many wires we can get in one of these
If we use all the earths =10 wires

thanx guys for your input
