Big Boat Haulers was created by allan

My wife's Cousin moves big boats for a living and he will charge you $20-40,000 to move a boat from Perth to Sydney.

Apparently it's cheaper to truck boats across the country than to sail around it.

Even Sydney Melbourne, it's cheaper on a truck.
Something like this I guess? Seen in Coolgardie (pointing towards Perth) a few years ago:

Similar, His trailer will blow out to 19 metres and the biggest thing I've moved with him was a house boat that needed the Police to close the Hume Highway to allow it to fit. The longest the 39 metre mast.

I've had a lot of fun times being the dumb Pilot guy.

Definitely cheaper for a bigger  boat to move over longer distances via road.
I had mine moved around several times using Robert Honey years ago.
The last big move it did was to our house (100 miles from the sea) where it hasn't moved in 10 years.Cost 3 000 bucks including the travel lift out of the water.

It came down from Newcastle overnight via a drop deck UPS truck, (yes really) fortunately when we bought her, we planned for it to not be more than 9m long 3m wide, twin keel and have a fold down mast for both bridges and road transport.
(oversize but no escort required and being a bilge keeler would sit flat on a lower drop deck keeping it under 4.3mtrs high.

It was considered to be a short boat haul by Australian standards.

Seeing this has its own thread.

I'll post these pics of the QLD / Northern NSW based guy who ran the US imported Louisville  Aeromax. Every other time I spotted him loaded but not here in Coffs Harbour.

A fella I was working with a few years ago was wanting me to shift his house boat from Mildura to Cobram way on the Murray

I was stunned for someone to do that, it's on the same river, anyway just shows how little I know about boats

Talkn of boats
the biggest one we shifted
was about 30 feet high and we moved it from one side of the road to the other side of the road so the West Gate bridge fwy could be bilt
then the Melb Harbor trust floating crane pluked the boat off our trailer to place in the Yarra River Guessn 1973/4

Ahh, Robert Honey.
He does contract work for Stu.
We had a job one night where we stayed at the Crossroad Hotel and whilst booking in (3 guys in one room) I kept calling Robert “Honey” the poor receptionist just couldn’t work out what was going on.
I’ll try for some images of some jobs I’ve done with Stu moving boats.
I’m an armature but do it for the three Fs. Fun, fun, and food.
