Dropped in the other day, lots of rust and old bangers that had worked very hard.
But the stand out was the Brown and Hurley Kenworth building.
a chap in a suit explained the Kenworth dealers chip in for a new vehicle every year. These trucks are absolutely mint, fantastic paint, polished wheels, Bullbar, chimneys, full sleepers the works.
The also had some refurbished units and they were also very nice.

A place I have been meaning to go and have a look at one day
From what I read it's got a lot going on there
I'm guessing the new Kenworths are run a little bit now and then to keep them in tip top condition

Paul, allow two days at least, to get a good look round the museum.
Then there's the train museum next door.

V8lan is correct, plan on at least a couple of days. I was there in 2015 during the Truckie's Reunion. Although I spent most of my time out on the show lot, I did walk thru the KW building. I did not do the Chan railroad part as they wanted an seperate entrance fee. Even with some outside the Haul of Fame floor area was packed very tight. Here is a link to my 2 page Flicker album of my visit to Alice Springs. For some reason they are in reverse order of how I took them??? The parade was on Saturday and the internal pictures were taken Thursday.

I heard one running while we were there. Seems crook to have the tyres sitting there, the trucks aren’t on chassis stands, no idea how the fuel likes standing either. They all mostly had air lines hanging down from the ceiling.
For some reason I could only post half the photos. It just doubled up!
The other side of the building has all the newer models and they’re magnificent.
Lots of poor old Leylands, Commers, etc rusting away out in the yards. I guess most of the restored gear went when Liz moved out? There was very little in their shed.

Jeffo, I am sorry your visit was not as good as mine.. I hope my 2015 pictures filled in some blanks?? The sheds in my pictures were very interesting.. How was Liz able to take trucks with her when she left??? I remember reading there was some bad stuff coming down about her, But not what..

Brocky I'm not sure what happened
I'm thinking, that like so many things that start off small, if they succeed and grow the original people that started them get left behind
There certainly was some stuff floating about in social media back when Liz was heading her own way
It's sad to think it couldn't all be sorted in a better way, as in out of the public eye, but I guess it had to be sorted some how
