Scrap Theives.

I went to take a 1935 Bedford radiator into the radiator works yesterday morning. It was leaning against the bumper bar, alongside a '34 radiator and a 1928 Studebaker radiator. All were complete with shells and badges. They were there last week. Yesterday: gone!
That's three vintage vehicles I have that are now only good for parts. The '35 ran, too. Just needed tyres to drive. 
Someone has actually had to walk all through my yard (small acreage) to find these. You cannot see them from the road.
I have been to all the local scrap yards and filed a police report, but I don't expect to see them again. Absolutely gutted.

I have just been dealing with these low life scum. Our Association Kokoda Memorial on the Gold Coast was stripped of brass plaques and brass lettering a short time ago.

Drone ...they fly a drone over your place in a few minutes ........I had continuous scrap thieves here for years now ......all the copper is gone,they get to taking alloy and even steel .....There was a thing on TV asking people to report copper theft ....big joke and a waste of time ..........Some US states have all kinds of licences for holding and selling copper ,and long jail terms for thieves .......Queensland doesnt care .

The cops are another big joke ...........I had a set of perfect handprints on a switchgear case over at the yard ........all the cops had to do was lift them with sticky tape ........cop sprayed the prints with black dust and completely obscured them ......Nope ,cant use these....tata ....and DONT ring again.

Current settings favour crime.
So sorry for the victims.

That is utterly inexcusable! I struggle to believe how low some people can go. Further, you can bet someone that low didn't spend the money on anything worthwhile....

And the big time yards buy stolen copper ,dont care where it comes from ,straighht into the shredder so there is no evidence.

My son had a guy wanting to a TD9 dozer radiator,Went up the back on the Wednesday afternoon ,took photos of it . Buyer was happy ,how it looked So came up 300 Ks on Saturday morning to pick it up .Went up to load it when he arrived  GONE.  Gone also were FowlerVF radiators a Hitachi 20 ton excavator core ,Batteries ,And who knows what else until you actually go looking for something .
Monday ,son had his father in law go round the scrap dealers . Found the Radiators , But the thieves had cut them up with a grinder ,so all were stuffed . Scrapyard had ID of "Sellers" off drivers liecence  . So his FIL took the info to police . AND did not want to know anything about it..

And Lang I am shocked someone could even think of stealing the brass out of the memorial
I guess the scrap dealers that accept things like that really are a huge part of the problem
It would of been cast into the brass what it is, totally in excusable

I had a similar thing happen to me a few years ago, except I caught the person in the act but dumbo me didn't realise what was happening 

I did a hour or so later when I noticed the truck was nearly out of fuel at 4 in the morning

Now one of the benefits of living in a small country town is we know everyones business

Anyway I found out who the prick was and the car and loctation of the who, what, when and where

Still couldn't get the cops to do anything

As much as it goes against probably this forums rules but we really need to start trying something a little different to solve these issues

All I can say is I have a lot of acres and enough earth moving machinery to hide just about anything

I really feel for you Jarrod, it's a disgrace
